Orange County Counselor's Scholarship - Deadline 3/1/2024
OCCA offers 3 types of scholarships each $1,000 for graduating Seniors who are planning to directly continue their education. Academic Scholarship for those whose major will be in the counseling or human service-related field. CTEC Scholarship is for the CTEC student who is continuing their education in college, trade, or tech school. Special Education Scholarship for those students continuing their education after high school. Buckenmeyer Memorial FASNY Volunteer Scholarship - Deadline 3/15/2024
The Gerard J. Buckenmeyer Memorial FASNY Volunteer Scholarship program is made possible each June through the generous donations of individuals, fire departments and auxiliaries. The awards recognize exemplary members of the youth fire service who also contribute to their communities. The Firefighters Association of the State of New York awards $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors entering college. CSEA Southern Region 3 awards four $1,000 college scholarships to graduating seniors whose parents or guardians are CSEA members working in the Southern Region 3. The Scholarship Application can now be downloaded here or from www.cseany.org and then from there, you can access the Southern Region’s Website. All applications must be postmarked by March 29, 2024 no exceptions. Applications not postmarked by March 29, 2024, will not be considered. CSEA Region 3 will also be accepting the application and supporting documentation by email by close of business (5:00 pm) at csearegion3@cseainc.org.April, 2024
Joyce A. Betros Scholarship (TEG Federal Credit Union) - Deadline 4/1/2024
The TEG Joyce A. Betros Scholarship $1,000 will be awarded to high school seniors who have demonstrated high academic excellence and community service throughout their high school careers. The scholarships will be given to students who are TEG members or whose parents/guardians are members in good standing. All applicants must be graduating in 2024 and preparing to attend an institution of higher learning in the fall 2024 semester. OPEN TO GREENWOOD LAKE STUDENTS ONLY It is awarded to a successful candidate who exhibits the qualities of compassion, kindness and service toward their classmates and community. The spirit of this scholarship was intended for an individual with these qualities who intends to pursue an educational path in the field of health care. However, all potential applicants who embody Ellen White's endearing qualities will be considered by the scholarship committee. Awarding 10 (ten) $100.00 (One Hundred Dollar) scholarships annually to eligible graduating seniors of schools in Orange and Sullivan Counties be attending college, trade school, or entering military service after graduation. Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements: Be a first or second-generation descendant (child or grandchild) of an honorably discharged veteran; involved/member of a military-style organization - JROTC, Civil Air Patrol, NYNGCYP; OR have already enlisted (Delayed Enlistment Program) or plan on serving in the U.S. Armed Forces after graduation. Junior League of Orange County, NY President's Scholarship - Deadline 4/15/2024
The Junior League of Orange County, NY, Inc. awards the annual President’s Scholarship for Volunteer Service, awarding one scholarship, in the amount of $1000 to a graduating female residing in Orange County entering an accredited college/post secondary training Fall 2024, full-time or part-time basis and involved in women's/children's issues as a volunteer. The Chester Alumni Association offers two(2) financial awards to graduates of the Chester Academy/High School, and one(1) financial award to the descendant of a graduate of Chester Academy/High School. Greenwood Lake Lions Club Scholarship - Deadline 4/26/2024
The scholarship of $2,000 is offered to a graduating Senior who resides full-time in Greenwood Lake and plans to attend a school of higher learning and to reward that person for his/her efforts that have benefitted the community or a person/persons in the community. ACT Through Music Scholarship - Deadline 4/30/24
ACT Through Music Suicide Prevention & Awareness Scholarship is taking applicants through April 30th. This scholarship opportunity requires one to create a short video or submit an essay. Creative Theatre-Muddy Water Players: Shepard Coleman Performing Arts Award - Deadline 5/1/2024
Creative Theater-Muddy Water Players (www.attheplayhouse.org) is based out of Museum Village in Monroe and is committed to continuing the performance arts in the area. Offering 16+ scholarships to student residents of Orange County who are looking to continue their education in the performing arts. This could be theater, music, set design, etc. The award is $1250. Graduating high school seniors who are dependents of active CSEA members are eligible to apply for our union’s statewide college scholarships. Annually, CSEA awards 18 $1,000 scholarships (3 in each region) under the Irving Flaumenbaum Memorial Scholarship and Thomas H. McDonough programs. Applicants are also considered for the one-time, $2,500 scholarships sponsored by Pearl Insurance and MetLife. • The Chester Kiwanis Vocational/Technical Award is presented to a graduating senior pursuing vocational or technical education that culminates in a certificate, two-year or four-year degree.
• The Key Club Service Award is presented to a senior by the Kiwanis Club of Chester. This student must be a current member of the Key Club and have been a Key Club member for at least one additional year prior.
• The Chester Kiwanis Healthcare Scholarship is presented to the senior who is pursuing a degree in the Healthcare profession, including both physical and mental health.
