Welcome to Chester Academy Guidance

The Chester Academy Guidance Department fosters each student’s social, emotional, and academic development to maximize their educational potential. Students are assigned a school counselor based on their year in school and are available to meet with students to address their concerns.

In addition to counselors, the pupil personnel department is staffed with a school psychologist who works with students requiring individual testing and counseling. A social worker, A.I.S. English and math teachers, and a speech therapist provide support services. Referrals may be made by teachers or by personal request of students and their parents.

HIGH SCHOOL GUIDANCE [link to HS Guidance page]
Students’ records will be reviewed during the spring of their 8th-grade year to determine what course of study an individual student will begin in 9th grade. High School Guidance assists students select courses, meet graduation requirements, find classes that colleges typically consider, and much more. Meetings are set up throughout the year to monitor a student's academic progress and provide personalized support. We believe the student-counselor relationship is integral to the success of our learners. Teachers are responsible for contacting parents when a student is failing a class, not being recommended for an Honors class, or moving to the next level of foreign language.
