Michael Doucette, Director of Physical Education and Athletics for the Chester Union Free School District, began in September 2022. He currently coaches the Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Baseball teams at Chester Academy. Mr. Doucette has been working in the district since 2007 as a coach, physical education teacher, math teacher, business teacher and sports media teacher. Previously, Mr. Doucette worked for Orange-Ulster BOCES, SUNY Orange and the Enlarged City School District of Middletown. 

Mr. Doucette has a passion for coaching. He has coached for over 27 years for multiple school districts throughout Orange and Ulster Counties, including the collegiate level, and has coached in the district since 2007. He created the volleyball program for Chester Academy in 2015 and has coached several sports, including basketball, soccer, and indoor track. Mr. Doucette has coached multiple Chester teams to 18 playoff appearances, where he has coached in 8 section finals, winning 4 championships. He has also coached 9 division title teams as well as making an appearance in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championship game with the baseball team.

Mr. Doucette earned his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Business Management and Administration from Mount Saint Mary College. He also earned his graduate degree in Secondary Education from Mount Saint Mary College. Lastly, he earned a certificate of advanced study in School Leadership from SUNY New Paltz. Mr. Doucette holds a New York State Professional Certification as School District Leader and an Initial Certification as School Building Leader. He also holds Permanent Certification in Mathematics 7-12, Physical Education K-12 and Business and Distributive Education K-12.
