Welcome to the official web site for the Chester Union Free School District!

The Chester School District is a small public school district which is located in Orange County, New York, approximately 60 miles north of New York City in the beautiful Lower Hudson Valley region in New York State.  It is comprised of portions of the Town of Chester, Village of Chester, Town of Goshen, and Town of Blooming Grove.  In addition, the Chester Academy High School educates a number of students from the Greenwood Lake School district on a tuition basis.

There are two schools in the Chester School District, Chester Elementary School (K-5) and Chester Academy (6-12) and they educate approximately 1,100 students.  Chester schools provide a wide variety of academic, extracurricular, and athletic programs which provide many opportunities for student exploration and growth.  This includes the availability of vocational training and Advanced Placement® and college level courses and an internship program which promote college and career readiness.

Our district welcomes and values our relationships with our students’ parents/guardians and the Chester community.  Working together, our school community provides a safe and nurturing learning environment where all students are valued as individuals with unbounded potential.

To learn more about our schools, please visit the school web pages or contact the building principal.

    Sincerely,

    Denis M. Petrilak
