CES celebrates annual 5th Grade Moving Up Day

The Class of 2033 took another big step closer to graduation during Chester Elementary School's annual 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony, held Thursday, June 18 at Chester Academy!

Throughout the ceremony, several awards were presented including the Art Award, Math Award, Writing Award, Kiwanis K Kids Award, Citizenship Award, and the NYS Senate Award.
Principal Mary Kate Boesch offered words of encouragement as graduates head into the next chapter of their lives.
"What I know for certain is that this group is filled with achievers. You are resilient. You know how to overcome obstacles, adapt to change, and work hard to reach your goals. Those qualities will carry you far," she said. "I believe in each and every one of you, and I am incredibly proud of who you have become. Congratulations, fifth graders. As you leave elementary school behind, embrace the future you will create. We cannot wait to see all that you accomplish."

It was an evening of celebration for Chester Union Free School District, as the 94 members of the Class of 2026 were celebrated on Thursday, June 25 during Chester Academy’s 141st commencement ceremony!
