Chester Pre-K and Kindergarten students introduced to PBIS

Chester’s youngest Hambos, our pre-K and Kindergarten students, gathered together in the elementary school Maker Space on Friday morning for a lively assembly introducing them to the district’s PBIS program. You may be wondering, “What is PBIS?”

PBIS stands for “Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports,” and is an evidence-based, tiered framework that supports students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. It is how we set expectations and encourage appropriate behavior, in all school settings and situations.

Chester’s PBIS program engages students, families, and community members to co-create safe and predictable learning environments, and encourages Hambos to always be Respectful, Responsible, Ready, and Safe!

Which grade levels will win the Golden Swing, Golden Tray, and… yes… the Golden Plunger Awards this year? Stay tuned to see who reaches their PBIS goals!
