Orange County Department of Health - COVID19

 

The Orange County Department of Health has asked local school districts to help communicate the following information:

 

To provide COVID-19 information in a timely and uniform manner, the Department of Health is providing the following link to assist the public in accessing information pertaining to vaccinations:

This link will allow eligible residents who live or work in Orange County to sign up to receive information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. This will help all of Orange County residents to equitably receive updates on the vaccine distribution as they are made available to the Orange County Health Department.

For residents that do not have access to a computer and require assistance, please call the Orange County Office for the Aging at 845-615-3700.

To underscore the scarcity of vaccine among providers in our area, according to New York State Department of Health, as of January 25th, there were 148 “enrolled” COVID-19 vaccine providers locally, of them only 10 are “approved” by the New York State Department of Health. Of those ten, only five are currently receiving vaccine allocations and are administering vaccines on a weekly basis. 


We understand these are very confusing times and there is a lot of conflicting information circulating. We hope that this information will help clear up some of the confusion, and avoid delaying the much needed, timely vaccination for our eligible community members
