Sandy Nagler Receives Excellence in Community Service Award
Congratulations to Sandy Nagler, Chester Board of Education Vice President for being selected to receive the Excellence in Community Service Award from the Mid-Hudson School Study Council. In addition to her work on the Chester School Board, Mrs. Nagler has been Chester Academy PTSA President, Girl Scout Leader, President of Chester Kiwanis Club and most recently Lieutenant Governor of Hudson River West Division.
Through her volunteering with the Chester Kiwanis Club, Mrs. Nagler works directly with the local food pantry and the Chester School District to help feed needy families in the Chester community. Her leadership helped our schools to develop a backpack program during the school year so needy children would have food to eat on the weekends. Mrs. Nagler worked with Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus to secure a grant to extend our backpack program throughtout the summer months. This partnership helps to feed children when school is not in session.
